Located in the nearby city of Rigby, Jefferson County Lake offers a great day-trip option for anyone lodging at the Snake River Hideout.

Open from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm in June, July and August, the lake fills naturally and is usually full by the first week of July. In addition to offering scenic beauty, Jefferson County Lake also offers a number of amenities to enjoy. These include:

  • Beaches
  • Boat Ramp
  • Lake Slide
  • Picnic Tables
  • Playground Equipment
  • Small and Large Shelters (large shelters are by reservation only)
  • Tennis Court
  • Volleyball Nets
  • Walking Trails

The area also offers walking trails and grassy areas where you and your family can fly a kite, toss around a Frisbee or otherwise simply enjoy spending time outside with one another.

As an added bonus, Jefferson County Lake is relatively inexpensive to enjoy. A day pass is just $5 for a walk-ins, bike-ins or per vehicle. If you anticipate visiting the lake on a regular basis, an annual pass is just $30 per vehicle.

While in Rigby, you might also want to check out the Farnsworth TV and Pioneer Museum. Available to visit by appointment only, the museum offers a fun way to explore the history of the area and learn more about American inventor and television pioneer Philo Farnsworth.
